Ego Is Not My Enemy: It’s What Keeps Me Standing

Ego vs. Being Egoistic

Ego is actually good, and I’ve noticed it personally. Let’s discuss it. There’s a difference between ego and being egoistic. If someone challenges me, I’ll definitely say yes, because my ego won’t let me back off. That sense of competition, the continuous effort to improve yourself, is actually good.

Why Some People Call Me Egoistic

An egoistic person is different. Some people find me egoistic, even some of my family members. You know why? Because I don’t tolerate disrespect at any cost. It has happened to me multiple times. I won’t say I was arrogant, I just decided I would not let anyone touch my self-respect. It always stands tall.

Self-Respect or Self-Obsession?

Ego is something that completes me, because it continuously reminds me that I matter and that I must value myself. Of course, I care deeply about my parents and my closest people, but I never forget my own worth.

Now here’s the question I want to ask: is it self-obsession? Is it self-respect? Or is it the definition of an egoistic person? I don’t really know, you can tell me. But whatever it is, I’m clear on one thing: I value my worth, even with my closest people.

Walking Away Without Chaos

I don’t believe in fighting or creating chaos. I simply pull myself away from that person.

Ego as Fuel

That’s one way of looking at it. Ego is not just a negative term, sometimes it’s more than that. If you ever listen to successful people, they will always say a healthy ego should be there within you, and I really agree. It pushes me to reach my limit every time. When a task looks difficult, my ego reminds me, “No mannnn, this isn’t you, you’re tougher than this. Come on, let’s do it.”

So yeah, that’s what I think about this matter. But you guys have no need to show any ego here, trust me. You can just stick with me like a koala, and I’ll always be your favorite tree.
